 2. Buy it from a shop...

I am a bit picky about which shops get to sell Really Good Peanut Butter. The first supermarket in the world that we have licensed to represent us is the inestimable Collingwood St Fresh Choice here in Nelson. Helen keeps a special shelf full of 380g jars. And they sell it for less than I do! I suspect rival peanut butter makers are subsidising them in order to put my stand at the Nerlson Market out of business. Their evil plan is, of course, doomed to fail, but then they haven't shown themselves to be the brightest sparks in the grinding business.

So, here's a list of stockists - As and when further outlets pop up I will list them here. And hey, if you have a shop and have customers you really like, click here to find out about selling it yourself.

NOTHING NEAR YOU?

Take your empty jar into your favourite store, bang it on the counter and demand they get some in. Tell them you've been telling your friends about it and that if its not on their shelves by next Tuesday you'll never shop there again.

3. Meet me at the Market...

My stall at the Nelson Market

Here's the worlds fanciest gazebo - and this photo was taken before we put the flagpoles up, and we got rid of those nasty cardboard boxes for people to pu their old tasting sticks in and replaced them with cheerful, washable yellow plastic ones and, um, Suze, who sells paintings next to us has gone to Tasmania for a while now. It was her who took the photo.

Nelson Market Peanut Butter tasting

This is my favourite way for you to get your peanut butter. I'll give you a taste on a nice wooden stick and if you bring the kids I''l give them each a great big blob. On Friday afternoons I'm at the Nelson Farmers Market from three till sixish. On Saturdays I'm at the world famous Nelson Market. Our stand at the Saturday market is in the South east corner, opposite Terry the organic liqueur guy and over near the Number One shoe store.

You'll find our full range at the Nelson market, and if I come up with anything new, that's where you'll see it first. And if you bring me back your 400g glass peanut butter jars I will give 50 cents to the Brook Wildlife Sanctuary and reuse them. And wont that give you a warm fuzz!

At the markets I sell fancy 1 kilogram Fido jars (made in Italy you know) of Really Good Peanut Butter. These are proper heavy preserving jars with wire clips. They cost a whopping $20 but once you've got one you bring it back and swap it for just $15! Yet another reason to move to Nelson.

Karl, who makes pickles and things and goes to markets all over the place (even in the North Island) always carries a few jars, so if you find a stall selling Nelson preserves, see if he's got the good peanut butter tucked away somewhere.

Oh, and I nearly forgot... a great big thanks to Caroline for taking the photos.

Auckland Markets... These days, if they look hard enough, Aucklanders can get a taste and buy a jar from one or two selected markets around Auckland. Heres who to look for:

This is Jack, with Kay, his mum on the other side of the sign that they made for their stand at the Oratia Farmers Market. On Sunday, Jacks brother Justin and nephew James can be found at the French Market in Parnell, down the bottom end of St Georges Bay Road. Kay sometimes gives away peanut butter cookies, so shes worth looking out for. Auckland Markets ... Haul out your credit card, ring the factory, day or night, on 03 5448402 and give me or Craig (or our insomnious answerphone) your name, your address, phone number, credit card details, and tell me what you want and how you'd like it. You can even ring on your cellphone - but hey look out you kids who think its fun to have us pay for your unhilarious anonymous messages. We
